Fun Day Out

We had some great fun with Melissa on Monday, at the Rockhampton Heritage Village turned out to be a beautiful setting to take some photos of our little cherubs - Jamie, Blake and Evie!

Jamie is wearing a OOAK swing dress and Blake too is wearing a OOAK denim shirt by Piggygirl whilst little Evie sports a retro inspired outfit by Emmaroseart what fun the cubbyhouse is!

I am busily creating some advertising so we can host our very first 'coffee morning' with some local Mum's to display some of our designs........

Stay tuned!

So it's begun

Kylie and I had our first photoshoot on Monday with the wonderful Melissa who took some fabulous photos for us. As we are in the planning stage, we're yet to bring out a virtual catalogue of our products, but stay tuned in the comming days I will upload some more samples of Mel's beautiful photography. Right now, it's all about planning, planning, planning!

Essentially, our aim is to bring together local talent in our community, to showcase a variety of homemade crafts, with a current focus on children's needs i.e fashion, creative play and decor. Presenting them in a comfortable 'shop from home' or 'party plan' type setting.

Kylie creates unique children's fashion from recycled children's wear - or
reconstruction as she calls it. Whereas I create new children's outfits based on retro styles, with modern and recycled fabrics. I also have a line of baby wear, accessories, quilts, cushions and 'scrappy chic' style handbags etc etc.

STAY TUNED, THERE'S ALOT HAPPENING HERE AT THE CUBBYHOUSE!

From little things, big things grow!

Kylie Ingram and myself (Emma Ward) share a special bond - to rid the world of 'heavily branded' children's wear one little green dinosaur at a time!!!!

Both mum's, we were looking for individual clothing for our kids that was quirky and unique. But living in a small town offers little in the way of boutiques - big name superstores only! We also both have a desire to leave a kinder footprint on our Earth, honestly believing in the three R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and more importantly, teaching these same values to our kids!

Whilst Kylie was independantly starting her label PiggyGirl fashions - reconstruted children's wear with a creative couture twist, I was starting my own creative journey with my unique oneoff quilts and baby's accessories as Emmarose.

After meeting each other in 2008, we realised that their was a niche in our hometown for unique children's accessories with a locally handmade ethos. So, we have decided to 'join forces' and create a home shopping experience for other like minded Mum's and families, who, like us, appreciate uniqueness and have an appreciation for handmade quality; not to mention supporting others in our community who also share a desire to create independent handmade products.

So without further adue, we embark on our latest adventure............. If you need us, come and have a cuppa in the 'Cubbyhouse'.
